Darshana In Perspective

WE'RE OUT TO DO SOMETHING RADICAL...

That being... to demonstrate common sense.

Our current lifestyles are destroying the world in which we must live  at an alarming rate.

We are looking for participants in a sustainable lifestyle - one that will not contribute to global warming, insurmountable dept, war and other perils -  with the intention of dramatically lowering our carbon footprints. That being, the energy our current lifestyle burns, which includes such items of transporting all your shit halfway around the world to deliver it to you, and wrecking other countries land just to create waste landfills for it when you're done with it. We're out to consciously, and living slower, cleaner, simpler, and more aware lives ultimately benefits our grandkids, and theirs in turn.

We need students, educators, primitive technologists, writers, lawyers, lobbyists, gardeners, goat herders, artists, FAMILIES, meditators, knitters, elders, hunters, gatherers, children, shamans, storytellers, woodworkers, earners, herbalists, healers, light hearted fools (no heavy hearted fools, please!) who are ready to face their fears, meet with our transition team, and walk away from a life out of balance.

We need people who are balanced, good communicators, and preferably those with a stabilizing personal practice (meditation, yoga, NVC, prayer, etc.)

Help us create a multi-generational, community of folks from all walks of life to demonstrate simple living, educate people to the realities of our global, cultural path and offer alternatives. Show that anyone can make significant, sustainable changes while retaining or even increasing peace and joy in their lives.

Originally, we had intended for this to be an entirely nomadic community. This created too many obstacles and risks for too many people (especially families and elders). We are now looking at a permanent base. We will retain the nomadic branch of the community and add to it a permanent home place and organic farm.

When nomadic, we will live in simple, structures: tipis, yurts, simple/small/handmade natural dwellings. We will maintain at least partial food self-sufficiency whether in the nomadic outpost or permanent setting.

We all can rationalize (rational-lies?!) what prevents us from leaving our comfort zones but you CAN do it once realizing that time is of the essence. We will have to eventually, anyway.

We will have rich, intriguing educational options for our homeschooled children, as well - teaching skills that allow all to live in sustainable harmony.

At Darshana we transition and live simply, with as little petroleum fuel, plastics, toxic chemicals, twisted rationalizations and poor communication habits as we can manage. We will rediscover joy in simplicity and inspire intentional culture.

This plan would look like a very remote cohousing on a large, fertile piece of land in a compatible U.S. hardiness zone with adequate rainfall or with premium river or lake access.

Our current planning blueprint allows for individual exploration/expression on 2-4 acres while the vast majority of the land is under community care.

We are currently looking for people who are drawn to the following vision:

Communal Living: You arrived at the conclusion that communal living is your way of life and you are willing to orient your entire life accordingly.

Health-consciousness, open-mindedness, self-love: You take good care of your body, heart, and soul. You are a good communicator, tolerant and non-judgmental.

You enjoy or take interest in growing food, using alternative energy, practicing permaculture: You want to live in harmony with nature's ways, farm the land and grow foods and materials,  and produce whatever you can from home.

THE PLAN:

We are currently working through the purchase of land. After the purchase we will create dwellings and gardens, utilizing alternative energy designs. Ultimately we will organize dances, art and gardening classes, conduct sweat lodges, workshops and festivals to draw interest income, to supplement that from art, farming, and metals.

We will model sustainability and our exemplary low-carbon lifestyle. Most of all, we are planning to live a rewarding and meaningful life in community, governed by matriarchal principles of respect and love.

Please join our yahoo webgroup for detailed information and updates and to put yourself in the loop on our JOIN US link near the top of this page.

FOR MORE OF THE PLAN, contact us through our contact page, state the reason for your interest in our tribe, and simply request a prospectus Q&A report. We require that a phone number be included in your inquiry. We may call you. Your info will be held in privacy, but we want to do everything possible to keep spam under control as well.
